Nova Scotia Medal of Bravery

The Medal of Bravery is a provincial program to recognize persons who have risked their own lives or safety in assisting another person or protecting property.

Any person can be nominated for the Medal of Bravery, including those who have demonstrated exceptional bravery beyond that which is expected of them in their course of employment or service to the public.

The 2009 medals were awarded on November 18, 2009, by the Premier, at a ceremony in Halifax. Meet this year's recipients and read their stories here.
