On June 21st, 2009, Canadians from all walks of life are invited to participate in the many National Aboriginal Day events that will be taking place from coast to coast to coast.
June 21st kick starts the 11 days of Celebrate Canada! which includes National Aboriginal Day (June 21), Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24), Multiculturalism Day (June 27) and concluding with Canada Day (July 1)!

The Glooscap Heritage Centre
The day's events will include a magic show, music, drumming and dancing as well as an array of craft & food vendors, which includes a BBQ, ice cream and cotton candy.
Special Guests
Gkisedtanamoogk, from Burnt Church Reserve and Joel Denny and family, Eskasoni First Nation will entertain and teach guests through demonstrations of various styles of drumming, dancing and storytelling. Cathy Martin will host the festivities as well as participate in demonstrations of Mi'kmaq dancing and drumming.
There are many prizes to be won, including a recliner, complements of Berry's furniture. A DVD player and baskets full of goodies are also available to be won.

Acadia First Nation will host a gathering featuring Mi'kmaw drummers, dancers and crafts at the Milton Memorial Hall from.

Activities will include an Aboriginal fashion show; kettle boil; youth and adult drummers; basket weaving workshop; traditional leather bracelet workshop; porcupine quill embroidery workshop; dancing and acorn whistle making; enviroment quiz for kids (Name that Animal); medicine wheel workshop; puppet show on Glooscap; critters making from pine cones and ash splint flower making.
Chapel Island First Nation
