Working on the roadside

If you are planning to work on the roadway or within the highway right-of-way, including installing a driveway, permit(s) are required prior to commencing work. Who needs these Breaking Soils or Minister's Consent permits?

Breaking Soil of Highways Permit - for all construction work that will disturb the roadway surface, or any surface, soil, or structure within the highway right-of-way.(*fillable form)

Minister's Consent for Building & Access to Property Permit (residential or commercial) - for anyone who wants to erect a structure within 100 metres of the centreline of a highway, or within 60 metres of the right-of-way limit of a controlled access highway, or to create an access to a listed public highway. (*fillable form)
