Nova Scotia's Provincial Parks Act enables the Minister of Natural Resources to prepare a management plan for provincial parks. These plans define a vision and philosophy that guide park management decisions over the long-term. They also ensure that each property is managed consistent with the four cornerstones of the parks program as set out in the Provincial Parks Act - protection, outdoor recreation, heritage appreciation and tourism. Public consultation is an important component of the planning process.
