Fur Harvester Certification

Who Needs This Certificate?
|
|
This certification acknowleges that a person has taken and passed
a course designed to teach humane and ethical trapping procedures.
Anyone who wants to hunt or trap furbearering animals in Nova Scotia
has to have a Fur Harvester Licence, and, with a few exceptions, anyone
who wants to get that licence has to have one of these certifications.

Application Forms & Process:

An application form can be picked up at any of the Offices
of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources listed above. When it has
been filled in, it is sent to the address on the form, along with the
application fee.

The Fur Harvester course is given at various times through the year
in various locations. Contact the Department for details.
After the applicant successfully passes the course, the Certificate
will be sent to them by mail.

Waiting Period: |
Upon the successful completion of the Furharvester Course, you will receive a temporary student registration card, which is valid for 1 year from the date of issue. Your permanent Wildlife Resources Card will be automatically sent to you within 2-3 months of taking the course.

Expiry & Renewal: |
The Wildlife Resources Card displaying your Fur Harvester Certification is valid for five years and can be renewed.

Furharvester Education course $40 plus HST
