Anyone who wants to kill or capture wildlife causing damage to property
or crops in Nova Scotia. |

Application Forms & Process: |

An applicant can request the permit in person or by phone from the nearest
Local or Area Offices of
the N.S. Department of Natural Resources.
If all requirements are met, and the application is approved, the permit
can be collected at the counter or sent to the applicant by mail.

Same day. |
Expiry & Renewal: |
|
The permit is valid for the period of time specified on it. It is renewable.
The renewal process is started by the permit holder before it expires.

Related Requirements: |

If the permit holder is not the landholder, he/she must possess permission
from the landowner.

Additional Information: |

- Any complaints concerning control of migratory bird species will
be referred to the Canadian Wildlife Service.
- It is permitted to live trap raccoons and "other harvestable"
wildlife without this permit.
- Live trapping or killing of species except "other harvestable" wildlife
requires that a permit be issued to the property owner or occupant.
- A Licenced Nuisance Wildlife Operator can act as an agent for the
owner.
