Who Needs This Licence? |
|
Anyone who wants to engage in the business of
taxidermy in Nova Scotia. The Minister of Natural Resources may issue
a Licence to any person to carry on the business of a taxidermist at a
location to be described in the Licence.

Application can be made in person at the address above or by completing the form below and submitting by fax, email or in person. If application is approved, the licence will be delivered to applicant's business premises by Department of Natural Resources staff.

Expiry & Renewal: |
|
This licence is valid for one year; from April 1st to March 31st and may be renewed. Renewal notices are generally sent via email.

Initial Application and Annual Renewal: $12.48 plus HST
|
Related Requirements: |

- A valid Wildlife Resources Card, N.S. Department of Natural Resources,
- Fur Buyer Licence, N.S. Department
of Natural Resources;
- Fur Retention Permit, N.S. Department
of Natural Resources.
The above may be necessary if mounting fur bearing animals.

Additional Information: |
|
- Anyone who wants to deal with migratory birds other than hunted
species being prepared for the hunter must also obtain a separate
permit from the Canadian Wildlife Service.
- Taxidermists wishing to buy skins or hides of furbearers, deer,
or moose for resale as prepared specimens also require a
Fur Buyer Licence and/or a Hide Dealer
(Deer or Moose) Licence from the N.S. Department of Natural Resources.
- Licenced taxidermists shall keep accurate records of all wildlife,
skins, pelts, hides, or parts thereof received for the purpose of
curing, mounting or storing. Copies of these records may be requested
by the N.S. Department of Natural Resources. The records shall be
open to inspection to any Conservation Officer. The information to
be included in these records are specified in the Regulations.
