![]() Business Logo Program The rules for signs along provincial highways have changed. The changes make it easier for motorists to find traveller-related services and sites, and the scenic beauty of our roadsides will remain protected. The new rules represent an integrated approach, involving three kinds of signage on highways: advertising signs, logo signs, and directional signs. This fact sheet explains the new rules for logo signs. Business logo signs will be posted at interchanges on 100-series, controlled-access highways in Nova Scotia. They will complement the existing brown service signs.
Eligibility: Qualified businesses that provide fuel, food, accommodation or farmers market services located near an interchange are able to include their logo or name on signs posted before and at exits, where space allows. Eligibility criteria are the same as for the brown service sign program. Number of Signs: Each qualifying business is allowed one logo per approach. Size of the Signs: Each panel displays a maximum of six logos, each approximately .9 x .9 metres (3 x 3 ft.). Motorist service sign panels before exits are about 3.9 x 2.7 metres (13 x 9 ft.). Panels at exits are 3 x 2.7 metres (10 x 9 ft.). Fee: $300 per logo per year, plus cost of installation and manufacturing which will be handled by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. Distance: The criteria are the same as for the brown service sign program. Contact: For more information, please contact Brian Storrie, at (902) 424-0330. Application Procedure: Contact your local area office of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. |
