As the summer construction season heats up, Nova Scotians are reminded to watch their speed in road construction zones. Fines will be doubled and demerit points will be assigned to driver's records for speeding in work zones. You're invited to listen to the radio advertisements for the 2008 Work Zone Safety campaign and view the signs commonly used in road work zones.

Truck Regulatory Review
The Government of Nova Scotia has embarked on the Better Regulation Initiative. We want to hear about your concerns and ideas about how to reduce the regulatory burden facing the Nova Scotia trucking industry.(More)

Crosswalk Safety
Effective June 1, 2008, the province has amended the Motor Vehicle Act to clarify the roles and responsibilities of motorists and pedestrians. (More)

Drivers in Nova Scotia now have a quick, simple way to get information on highway conditions thanks to the new 511 highway information system. (more)
