5 Tips to Help You Prepare for a Successful Season
The 2010 season is almost upon us, and operators are eager to
greet this year’s visitors and help them make great memories on their Nova
Scotia vacation. But are you ready? Here are some questions to help you get
ready:
|
-
When was the last time you reviewed your website? Is it up to date? Are rates
correct? Are new photos online? Potential visitors love to read quotes from
other visitors and see other people having fun at your property. Don’t forget
to include your information on partner websites. Check to make sure those links
are working.
-
Have you updated, printed and distributed your rack cards or brochures for the
season? If you have any questions about how to be part of the
VIC distribution program.
-
Have you developed partnerships and packages with your neighbouring operators
to help keep visitors in your area longer by offering a fuller experience?
-
Have you contacted previous visitors that are in your database to invite them
back? They are a great source of repeat revenue and inexpensive to contact. And
they love to be remembered, especially with a special incentive to return.
-
Have you repaired, repainted and/or fixed the small things you put off over the
winter? Ask someone you know to help you look at your property with a fresh set
of eyes. A bit of paint can go a long way to making your guests feel welcome.
“Love is in the details” as Oprah says.

It may seem like there are never enough hours in the day and you
are pulled in too many directions as the season approaches, but paying
attention to the basics is critical for a successful year.
