Membership Selection Process

Members are selected through an industry call for applications. An industry-led selection committee consisting of five members (Past-Chair of the Council, President of TIANS, two other industry representatives and the Executive Director of the Department of Tourism, Culture & Heritage) review and select the 14 industry positions to serve on the Nova Scotia Tourism Partnership Council. Members are selected with the following in mind,
the need for 14 tourism industry members and two government representatives:

Industry members are to be owners, operators or senior managers of tourism-related businesses
The required geographic balance of people around the province as well as members at large
Members have to have an ability to see the broader picture with a global vision and a province-wide perspective
Members had to support and participate in council programs, be committed to the process and able to attend meetings
To ensure continuity with the work carried out over the last year
Only half of the industry membership will change annually.

The Council accepts applications year round. To apply to become a member, please fill out this form and fax it back to 424-0723. Please note, member selection takes place in November of each year.
