General
The Heritage Division assists 66 community museums through its
Community
Museum Assistance Program (CMAP). The
program was developed in close consulation with community
partners-in-heritage. Participating museums offer programs,
exhibits, information and interpretation of their collections
to community residents and visitors. Each has been evaluated
according to a set of provincial standards and has been given
the CMAP "seal of approval".
CMAP provides to museums a variety of services
including advice, evaluation, and funding and publishes a variety
of documents that can assist museums in their operations.
