Note: Effective January 1, 2004, any time a vehicle registration (plate)
is renewed for a motorized vehicle (excludes off-highway vehicles, trailers,
semi-trailers and miscellaneous towed vehicles), insurance information
is required. A Statement of
Insurance form must be completed for in-person and mail requests.

plates are under a 2-year renewal cycle except:
Antique Auto Plates
Farm Truck Plates
Personalized Plates
Motorcycle Plates
Trailer Plates
Farm Equipment Plates
Large Commercial Vehicles Exceeding 5,000 Kilograms
Motor Driven Cycle Plates
Miscellaneous Equipment Plates
Off Highway Vehicle Plates
Motorized Home/Camper Plates
Plates may be renewed by submitting, along with the completed Statement
of Insurance form, the appropriate fee with the reminder notice sent
to you in the mail.
If a reminder notice is not received, you may submit the appropriate fee
with a completed Statement
of Insurance form and the renewal application form attached to your
vehicle permit or complete and return Form 2.
Many plate renewals can be processed over the internet by going to www.accessns.ca.
You must provide the necessary information and make payment with
a MasterCard, American Express or Visa. Excluding week-ends and holidays, the transaction
will be processed and mailed the next working day. You will receive a
confirmation number upon completion of the transaction through the internet.
Renewal fees are based on the weight, or the range of weights that are
found in the Schedule
of Fees.
