Note: Effective January 1, 2004, any time a vehicle registration (plate) is renewed for a motorized vehicle (excludes off-highway vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers and miscellaneous towed vehicles), insurance information is required. A Statement of Insurance form must be completed for in-person and mail requests. For requests on-line, you must provide this information electronically.  For more information, click here.

iAll plates are under a 2-year renewal cycle except:

iAntique Auto Plates
iFarm Truck Plates
iPersonalized Plates
iMotorcycle Plates
iTrailer Plates
iFarm Equipment Plates
iLarge Commercial Vehicles Exceeding 5,000 Kilograms
iMotor Driven Cycle Plates

Plates may be renewed by submitting, along with the completed Statement of Insurance form, the appropriate fee with the reminder notice sent to you in the mail.

If a reminder notice is not received, you may submit the appropriate fee with a completed Statement of Insurance form and the renewal application form attached to your vehicle permit or complete and return Form 2.

Many plate renewals can be processed over the internet by going to www.accessns.ca.  You must provide the necessary information and make payment with a MasterCard, American Express or Visa. Excluding week-ends and holidays, the transaction will be processed and mailed the next working day. You will receive a confirmation number upon completion of the transaction through the internet. Renewal fees are based on the weight, or the range of weights that are found in the Schedule of Fees.

Applications for renewal can also be submitted to:
