1920
White on Royal Blue; same design as 1918 plates, but these were the first
plates to be fully embossed. Size was 6" x 12 1/2".

1921
Black on Light Green; province name on one line at upper left, with
provincial coat-of-arms below that, and year below that. These plates
were flat metal again, 5" x 12 1/2".

1922
White on Black; abbreviation "NS" above "22" at the left, followed by
up to five numerals, all embossed metal. Plate sizes were 4 1/2" x 11
1/4" for four-digit and less, and 4 1/2" x 12 5/8" for five-digit numbers.

1923
Red on Light Gray; province name on two curved lines at the right with
the year below that; size 5 3/8" x 13 7/8".

1924
Yellow on Black; same format as 1922 plates except that "NS" and "24"
were at the right end. Note: The 1922 and 1924 vehicle plates were the
smallest ever issued in the province, while the 1923 plates were the largest!

Black on Ivory; NOVA SCOTIA-25 across the bottom; size 5 1/2" x 11".

1926
White on Forest Green; NOVA SCOTIA 1926 across the bottom; numbering
system comprised prefix letter "L" for Light cars, and "H" for Heavy cars;
size 5 1/4" x 12".

Dark Yellow on Black; same format as 1926 plates.

1928
Black on Dark Yellow; 1928 at top centre; NOVA SCOTIA across bottom;
Light cars had all-numeric plates, but Heavy cars had an "H" prefix.

White on Red; NOVA SCOTIA 29 across the bottom; size 6" x 11".
