Registered Representative Permits

 
Who Needs This Permit?

The RRP is issued to a registered representative who is an employee of a manufacturer (company) that is registered with the NSLC for the promotion and sale of liquor covered under the Liquor Control Act of Nova Scotia.

Process and Payment Options

Once the application is complete you may submit it with payment and any required supporting documentation to:

  1. Online - Available through www.nsbr.ca .
    Credit Card only – (MC, Visa or Amex).

  2. Drop Off - To any Access Nova Scotia Centre Centre throughout the province - Cheque, Bank Draft or Credit Card (MC, Visa or Amex).

  3. In Person - Business Registration Unit - 9- North, 1505 Barrington St. Maritime Centre, Halifax
    Cash, Debit, Cheque, Bank Draft or Credit Card (MC, Visa or Amex)

  4. By Fax – To the Nova Scotia Business Registry – 424-0642           
    Credit Card only – (MC, Visa or Amex).

Price:  (No tax is charged)

The current cost of this permit is $15.00.

All cheques, money orders and bank drafts should be made payable to the Minister of Finance.
 
Waiting Period:
5-7 Business Days from receipt of application to production and issuance of registration documentation to client.
 
Expiry & Renewal:

This permit is valid from the date of issuance until March 31st of the following year.  It is renewable and the Department will send out a renewal notice approximately four weeks before it expires.

Additional Information:

Once issued, Registered Representative Permits are not transferable.   Permits are required as a proof of registration to enable Registered Representatives to conduct business with their clients.

New applications must be accompanied by a letter from the individual’s employer, written on company letter head, confirming employment.

Change of Client Information Notification Form:
This form is used to change your registered representative status including any conflict of interest or to change your employment status, excluding a change of employer.  You can get an application form by visiting our website.

Change of Employer Notification Form:
This form is used by registered representative to notify the NSLC and SNS about a change of employer. You can get an application form by visiting our website.
