Who Needs This Certificate?
Anyone who owns a wastewater treatment, wastewater collection, wastewater distribution, or a water treatment facility in Nova Scotia

Application Forms & Process:
You can download an application form or you can get an application form for this Certificate from any Regional or District Office of the Department. After it has been completed, it is submitted, along with the appropriate fee.

When the Department receives an application, staff review it to see if all the required information is on the form, and if any supporting information is required. If not, the application is returned with an explanation as to what is missing.

If an application is acceptable, staff will determine the facility classification and issue a classification certificate.
Waiting Period:
A maximum of 60 days, provided that all the items that must accompany the application have been received.
Expiry :
This Certification does not expire.
Price: (No tax is charged)
$115.90

Please make cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance.
Related Requirements:
None
Additional Information:
If a facility is modified, the certificate holder must notify the Department of the details of the modification. The Department will then advise the certificate holder within 30 days whether the original classification needs to be changed.
