Pesticide (Commercial Or Restricted) Certificate

Who Needs This Certificate?

Anyone who wants to use or sell commercial class pesticides, or restricted class pesticides. A business either selling commercial or restricted class pesticides, or selling a service of applying these pesticides must also be certified as a Business Operator.

Note: A certificate is not required for homeowners applying domestic class pesticides on their own property.

Application Forms & Process:

You can download a copy of this application form or you can get one from any Regional or District Office of the Department

An exam, conducted by an outside agency, recognized  by the Department,  is required before completing the application. (An exam is not required for a Business Operator Certificate.)

When the application is completed, it is submitted to the Department, along with the appropriate fee.

If all requirements are met and the application is approved, the certificate will be sent to the applicant by mail.

Waiting Period:

A maximum of 60 days, provided that all the items that must accompany the application have been received.

Expiry & Renewal:

The certificate is valid for 5.  It can be renewed.  Note:  It is the responsibility of the permit holder to contact the Department before it expires; NO NOTICE of renewal will be sent out by the Department.

Business Operator Certificates are valid for 1 year.

Initial Application  $57.95
Renewal:  $57.95

Business Operator Certificate: $28.84

Additional Information:
