Municipality of the District of Chester

Transient Traders' Licence

Who Needs This Licence?
Anyone who wishes to hawk, peddle or trade, goods, wares or merchandise of any kind or description whatever within the limits of the Municipality of the District of Chester.

Note: This licence does not apply to any person selling or trading goods, wares or merchandise in or at any store, shop or other place of business within the Municipality.

Application Process:
An application form can be obtained from the Administration office of the Municipality of the District of Chester. When completed, it is submitted to the Municipality, along with the applicable fees.
Waiting Period:
None
Price & Payment:
Non-ratepayers within the Municipality shall pay a fee in accordance with the following:

i) Unprocessed products of the farm, forest and sea:
$25 for 1/4 year
$50 for 1/2 year
$75 for 1 year

ii) All other goods, wares or merchandise:
$50 for 1/4 year
$100 for 1/2 year
$200 for 1 year
Expiry & Renewal:
This licence is valid for 1/4 year [3 months], 1/2 year [6 months] or 1 year from the date it is issued. It is not renewable. When it expires, a new licence must be obtained.
