Demolition Permit

Who Needs This Permit?
Anyone who wishes to demolish a building or any portion of a building within the Municipality of the District of Chester.

Application Process:
An application must be filled out and submitted for issuance, including building size and distance to other buildings, property lines and public streets.
Waiting Period:
Usually within 2 to 3 days after application is received.
Price:
Free
Expiry & Renewal:
This permit is valid for 18 months from the date it is issued. It is renewable.
Related Requirements:
It may be necessary to contact the Nova Scotia Power Corporation (re: disconnecting power), Dept. of the Environment (re: sewer connection, well on property), and Dept. of Transportation (if near a public road).

Also possibly the Dept. of Natural Resources for a burning permit between the months of April and October.
