Who Needs This Permit?
  Anyone who wants to occupy a building just built, renovated, or for change of occupancy class in the Town of Amherst.

Application Forms & Process:
 

The Occupancy Permit is usually issued at the building site. The engineer signs off on the letter of undertaking (from engineer inspections) for Part 3 Building in the Building Code. The building is thoroughly inspected to make sure that no unsafe conditions exist.If the permit is not issued on the building site, the applicant will be notified by phone.
