CSA International Application for Special Appliance Label for Equipment to be Installed in Nova Scotia

Who Needs This Application?
Any organization wishing to have a special piece of equipment / device, using gas, certified for use in Nova Scotia by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

Application Forms & Process:
You can get an application from by:
  1. Downloading a form from our website; or

  2. Calling one of the phone numbers listed above.
If all requirements are met and the application is approved, a site visit is scheduled.
Waiting Period:
The entire process may take from 3 to 10 weeks depending on being able to schedule an inspection.
Expiry & Renewal:
The label does not expire but is non-transferable and is not valid if the equipment is moved to a new site.
Price: (no tax is charged)
$700 minimum deposit plus inspection costs for anything under 400,000 BTUs.

$1200 Minimum deposit plus inspection costs for anything above 400,000 BTUs.

Payment by Mail: Please pay by cheque or money order, made out to CSA International. (see Where can you get ..., above).
