Amusement Device Licence

 
Who Needs This Licence?
Anyone who wants to operate amusement devices in Nova Scotia (such as those found at a Maritime Rides and Attractions midway, or at a theme park such as Upper Clements Park).

Application Forms & Process:
The Owner of the amusement devices notifies the above-named Division of Labour and Advanced Education , either by phone, mail, or by fax, of the Owner's proposed schedule, and makes an inspection request.

Labour and Advanced Education inspects and, if devices pass inspection, issues a report and licence.
Waiting Period:
5 to 10 business days
Provided that all the items that must accompany the application have been received
Expiry & Renewal:
This licence is valid for 1 year from the date it is issued. Once it expires, it is invalid, and one must get a new permit.
Price:
$177.32 Initial Registration fee for new devices

$118.22 Annual Inspection fee
Related Requirements:
  1. Payment of tax / fee under Theatre and Amusement Act .

  2. Proof of insurance liability must be provided to the Inspector.
