| Application Forms & Process:

| | Coal Gas Exploration Agreements are issued following a competitive Call for applications. The Call must be open for a minimum of 60 days and is usually open longer
An application form (Form E, "Application for Coal Gas Exploration Agreement") can be obtained from the Manager, Petroleum Resources, N.S. Department of Energy.
When completed, it is submitted to the same office, along with the applicable fees.
Coal Gas Exploration Agreements may be issued for an initial term of up to 5 years and have had a work program which must be carried out if the agreement holder wishes to retain the lands.
If all requirements are met, and the application is approved, the applicant will be notified in writing following a decision by the N.S. Minister of Energy.

| Expiry & Renewal: |
| | This agreement is valid for up to 5 years from the date it is issued. It may be renewed for another 5 years by the Minister. The renewal time is the date it expires. |

Initial Application and Annual Renewal: $1089.11 plus rental of $0.13 per hectare per year |
