Rehabilitation Facility Registration

Who Needs This Registration?
Anyone in Nova Scotia who wants to rehabilitate sick, injured or orphaned wildlife which has been brought to them by the public or government officials.

Application Forms & Process:
An application form can be obtained from the Manager, Wildlife Parks (see address above).

The application must be accompanied by a suitable business plan and a description of the facility. There will be an inspection of the facility to ensure that it meets acceptable standards, and an interview with the applicant to ensure that they have adequate experience and/or training. Also, veterinary support for the facility is required.

Waiting Period:
The waiting period for the initial application varies, depending upon the length of time it takes to complete the facility involved. Renewals are usually processed in 1 week.

Expiry & Renewal:
This registration is valid for 3 years from the date on which it is issued, and can be renewed. Renewal requests can be submitted by phone or fax to the address above.

Initial Application and Renewal:  Free

Related Requirements:
This registration will be renewed only if all conditions attached to the initial registration have been fulfilled.
