| Who Needs This Agreement? |
| | Anyone who wants to have permanent rights of passage across Crown Lands
to private land in Nova Scotia. Rights-of-way are granted where the intended
use is long term in nature, and other forms of permits, leases or licences
are not adequate.

| Application Forms & Process: |
| | An applicant can make a request in writing to the Land Administration
Division of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources (see above), or to
the nearest Regional or Area Office of the Department.
If all requirements are met, and the application is approved, the applicant
will be notified by the Department following a decision by the N.S. Executive
Council [Provincial Government Cabinet].

| | Administration fee: $653.00 (plus HST) and survey costs *
Cost of Right-of-Way: $653.00 per hectare, $261.20 minimum *

- Crown Lands: Access Road Construction Permit,
N.S. Department of Natural Resources;
- Railway Crossing Licence, N.S. Department
of Natural Resources.

- Rights-of-way will be considered only if use cannot be established
by other authorized methods.
- The right-of-way agreement may stipulate conditions relevant to intended
use.
- The applicant should not incur any expense or begin construction without
first contacting the N.S. Department of Natural Resources.
- If approved as a right-of-way, the applicant shall arrange for a legal
survey at their own cost.
