Food Handler Certification

Who Needs This Certification?
This is an achievement certification which verifies that someone has completed the Food Handlers Education Program offered by Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change or an outside private agency.

Food handlers: Pursuant to the Nova Scotia Food Safety Regulations, all new food establishments are required to have a minimum of one trained foodhandler on site at all times and all existing food establishments will be required to have the same as of November 1, 2007.
