Variance Permit

Who Needs This Permit?
  Anyone who has applied for a Development Permit for an addition or new building but is unable to meet the set-back requirements as specified in the Land Use Bylaws.

Application Forms & Process:
  You can get an application form the Development Officer, Town of Yarmouth, (See Where Can you Get... above).

Letters are sent to adjacent property owners within 30 meters of the subject property to notify them of the variance.

Waiting Period:
  Property owners who receive notice, have 14 days, from the day of the Notice, to Appeal the variance to Council.
Expiry & Renewal:
  The variance is valid only for the time period specified on it. Once it expires, it is invalid, and you have to apply for a new one. If no time period is specified, the variance does not expire.
