Demolition Permit

Who Needs This Permit?
  Anyone who wishes to demolish a building or any portion of a building within the Town of Oxford.

You can apply at the Town Office listed above, or request an application form be mailed to you.
 

Waiting Period:
 

The Permit is usually issued within 2 to 3 business days of your request.

Free
 

Expiry & Renewal:
 

The Permit is valid for one year from the date it is issued. It can be renewed. It is the responsibility of the Permit holder to contact the Municipality before it expires; NO NOTICE of renewal will be sent out by the Municipality.
 

Related Requirements:
  It may be necessary to contact the Nova Scotia Power Corporation (re: disconnecting power), Dept. of the Environment (re: sewer connection, well on property), and Dept. of Transportation (if near a public road).

Also possibly the Dept. of Natural Resources for a burning permit between the months of April and October.
