Who Needs This Permit?
  Anyone who wishes to demolish a building or any portion of a building within the Town of Lockeport.Town of Lockeport

Application Forms & Process:
  An application must be filled out and submitted for issuance, including building size and distance to other buildings, property lines and public streets. A municipal Waste Information Sheet must be filled out with every permit application.
 
Waiting Period:
  The permit is normally issued right away, once all items which must accompany the application have been received, and all requirements are met, unless the property is deemed to be a heritage property.
 
Price & Payment:
  Permit: $20
 
Expiry & Renewal:
  This permit is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued. It can be renewed each year for $5.00.
 
Related Requirements:
  It may be necessary to contact the Nova Scotia Power Corporation (re: disconnecting power), Nova Scotia Environment and Labout (re: sewer connection, well on property), Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (if near a public road), and the Department of Natural Resources (for a burning permit between the months of April and October).
