The application
form is filled out at the office listed above, and submitted along with
the appropriate fee and appropriate information (such as the type of building
and the method of demolition/disposal which will be arranged).
Applicants will be notified by phone or by mail when a decision has been
made.

|
|
Approximately 10 days from the date
of application. |
| Expiry & Renewal:
|
|
This permit is valid for 1 year from
the date it is issued. It can be renewed.
Note: the application expires in 6 months if the application is not
completed.

|
|
The permit
fee schedule is subject to change from time to time. Consult with the
Building Official when submitting your application.
Payment can be made by cash,debit, credit card, cheque or money order
made payable to the Municipality of the County of Antigonish.

Environmental issues related to the
demolition may require approval of N.S. Environment
and Labour, Environmental Monitoring and Compliance Division. |

- All demolition shall be carried out in a manner to provide reasonable
safety to persons and property. Safety measures at the demolition site
must be in accordance with the National Building Code of Canada. Safe
demolition practises by employers are governed by the N.S. Occupational
Health and Safety Act.
- If the demolition is to occur at or near the street or highway right-of-way,
the local Traffic Authority and/or N.S. Department of Transportation
may need to be notified.
