work (valued over $5,000), place a prefabricated building on a lot, change
occupancy class of a building in the Town of Amherst.

An application form can be obtained by contacting the Town Hall (please
see Where Can You Get . . . above.
The completed application form is submitted to the Municipality along
with the plans, application fee, and letters of undertaking (engineer
inspections) for Part 3 buildings in the Building Code.
The proposed development must meet all requirements of the Land Use Bylaw.
The applicant will be notified of the results of the application by phone.

The Permit is normally processed within 2 to 3 days of receiving the
application, once all items which must accompany the application have
been received, and all requirements are met.
(Please allow several extra days for mail delivery.)

Permit: Depends on the type of structure
Renewal Fee: $5
Payment can be made by cash, Interac, cheque or Credit Card (VISA, MasterCard,
American Express).

| Expiry & Renewal: |

This approval is good for one year, from the date it is issued. It is
the responsibility of the holder of the permit to contact the Town
of Amherst to get a new one.
