New Homeowner Protection

Public Consultations – New Homeowner Protection

A review of new homeowner protection is underway in response to concerns about new residential construction, including condominiums. The review is being led by independent consultant, Novus Consulting Group Ltd.

Novus Consulting Group Ltd. has completed a broad range of stakeholder consultations in addition to a public survey, and developed a discussion paper, which identifies and outlines the concerns brought forward.

The deadline for feedback on the Discussion Paper has been extended until Friday, September 12, 2008. A response booklet is available to help you submit your observations and comments relating to the discussion paper.

The information obtained through this consultation process will help to develop recommendations to government on measures to improve or address the concerns.

A final report to government from the consultants is expected by early fall.

The Homeowner Protection Discussion Paper, and Response Booklet are available on-line at the links below. A hard copy of the document and booklet are also available by contacting our call centre at 1-800-670-4357.
