Emergency Services Provider Fund

The Emergency Services Provider Fund (ESPF) is intended to assist volunteer fire departments, ground search and rescue organizations and HAZMAT organizations to upgrade their equipment used directly in the response to a fire or emergency.

The program will provide up to 50 per cent of the total capital cost to a maximum of $20,000.

Funding for this program is pending 2012-13 budget approval.

Eligible Recipients

Fire departments, ground search and rescue organizations, HAZMAT organizations and other volunteer first responder organizations that did not receive ESPF funding in 2010-11 or 2011-12.

Eligible Projects

Equipment used directly in the response to a fire or emergency. Examples include: Jaws of Life, hoses, bunker gear, breathing apparatus, etc.

Deadline

The deadline for applications is June 1, 2012.
