Property Maps and Reports

Property Maps
Property maps can be accessed graphically through computer terminals
located in Land Registration Offices throughout Nova Scotia. Using
a computer map, users pinpoint their area of interest. Each property
is labelled with a Property Indentification Number (PID), which is used
to access the property record.
Maps may be printed in various sizes from a letter-size, black and white
page to a large-format colour sheet. As shown in the insert, ground features
such as roads, buildings, waterways, and retaining walls are colour coded
for easy identification. This helps the map user to easily identify the
property. A map can be printed for a single property or for groups of
properties.

Property Information Reports
Customized property information reports can be accessed via computer terminals
in Land Registration Offices throughout Nova Scotia. Searches are
activated based on owner name, Property Identification Number (PID), or
civic address. Information reports can be printed for single, multiple,
or adjoining properties and include PID, parcel type, address and location,
ownership, and status information. In conjunction with the tax assessment
database, certain assessment information can also be obtained, including
current assessed property value(s). |

Digital and Online Property Information

The Digital Property Series
The Digital Property Series includes property lines and ownership information,
and covers the entire province. Digital map files and tabular data are
sold by management unit, each contains 1500 to 2000 properties. Map files
show the area, configuration, and location of properties. This series
can be used alone or in conjunction with other NSTDB products, used mainly
for planning, development, and zoning purposes. License agreement required.

A subscription based internet service provides online access, from any
computer, to Nova Scotia land-ownership information. Corporate users who
need land ownership and related property information on a regular basis
will find this service particularly useful.
