Registry of Firewood Vendors in Nova Scotia

Purpose:

This voluntary registry provides consumers with a list of firewood vendors who have agreed to conduct business according to the Code of Ethics of the registry. This Code of Ethics addresses such areas as uniform and legal measurement practices, consumer dispute practices and legal advertisement practices.

Compliance with the Code of Ethics:

Only vendors who comply with the Code of Ethics will be listed in the registry. Applicants to join the registry will be evaluated to verify that advertisements, receipts and any necessary Joint Stock Company Registrations comply. Non-compliance with the Code may result in a vendors application to join the registry being rejected, or an active registration being suspended. Measurement Canada, the Nova Scotia Departments of Energy and Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations, the Atlantic Wood Energy Technicians Association and concerned firewood vendors are partners in the Registry of Firewood vendors in Nova Scotia.
