What is BizPaL?

BizPaL is an online service that helps business people create a customized list of licences and permits they may need to start or operate a business in Nova Scotia.  BizPaL uses a step-by-step process to where you simply select:

• The type of business you have or plan to start
• The municipality where it's located
• Any related activity you may perform to start or run your business (such as serving or selling food or alcohol)

Your customized list of licences and permits draws information from all three levels of government (municipal, provincial and federal). 

You can also search using a Keyword search, if you're looking for a specific permit.

BizPaL is now integrated with our online service for business to make it easier to use and increase the amount of information and transactions you can get in one place. To get started, simply create your online service account. Then you can search BizPaL, save the licences and permits you choose to your briefcase, and transactions, including:

• Reserving a business name
• Signing up for notifications of tenders
• Applying for individual licences and permits
• Requesting Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) Clearance Letters
