It will take up to three weeks to review your Preliminary Form and to let you know if you were accepted into the program. If you meet the preliminary requirements, you will receive a final application package in the mail. This package includes a final application form for the rebate.
If your Preliminary Form did not meet the program requirements, or was incomplete, you will be notified by mail. You have the option to submit a new application.
Yes. You may get a copy of the building permit from the contractor.
Different municipalities call their construction permits by different names. If the permit you have is to authorize the start of construction of your new home, it will be accepted as a building permit.
If your relation is intending to make the new home their permanent residence you may apply for the rebate.
A relation means an individual related to you by blood, marriage, common law relationship, or adoption.
Only the first 1,500 applicants that meet the preliminary requirements will receive a final application package. Other preliminary forms will be kept on file in the order in which they are received. If an applicant who met the preliminary requirements fails to meet all of the remaining requirements, a final application package will be sent to the next qualified applicant on the list.
No. The program rebates a portion of the taxes paid on the construction of a new home. Only the individual who paid the taxes can apply for the rebate. The rebate will be paid to that individual.
