Do you qualify for the rebate?

Single people with an income of $27,000 or less and households of two or more people with an annual income of $42,000 or less qualify for a rebate.  Households that receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement/Allowance from Service Canada or Income Assistance from the Department of Community Services also qualify.

Maximum rebate amounts

For oil, natural gas, propane, wood, wood pellets, etc.

  • up to $200, based on your income
  • bills must be dated January 1, 2011 or later

For electricity

  • up to $200, based on your income
  • bills must be dated January 1, 2011 or later and show that you have used at least 6,000 kWh of electricity in a 12-month period
