• Advertising Standards Canada is the national industry association. It is as a self-regulating body that monitors advertising.

Air Carriers

• The Canadian Transportation Agency regulates Air Carriers.

Automobiles

• The Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan is an industry-sponsored dispute resolution program.

Broadcasting Cable and Telecommunications 

• The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission regulates Canada's broadcasting and telecommunications systems.
  
  
• The Commissioner for complaints for Telecommunications Services is an independent body that helps to resolve complaints against member organizations.

Charities

• The Canada Revenue Agency's Charities Directorate provides information on registered charities.

Legal Issues

• If you wish to pursue a complaint in the courts, your first step will be the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia.
  
  
• For more general information on the law, the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia is a non-profit organization that provides Nova Scotians with legal information and resources.

• Canadian Direct Marketing Association answers questions about direct marketing. You can also contact them to have your name removed from junk mail lists.
