Description of Organization:
OTANS is a not-for-profit organization representing the interests of over 400 organizations in the energy sector, particularly in upstream and midstream activities both offshore and onshore. Members also work in the renewables sector. The mandate of OTANS has always been to support the maximization of Atlantic Canadian participation in the supply of both goods and services to meet the needs of the offshore/onshore oil and gas industry. Its purpose is to identify, promote and support the development of opportunities in hydrocarbon and associated industries.

Description of Membership:
One membership category: Full OTANS has an 15 person Board of Directors. The Executive committee of which for 2005 is: Barry Clouter (Chair) Richie Mann (Vice Chair) Steve Foran (Treasurer), Tina Battcock (Secretary), Rob Whitwham (Member at Large), Steve Fudge (Member at Large) and Tom Hickey (Past Chair).
