Description of Organization:
The Coal Association of Canada (CAC) is a not for profit industry association providing a single window through which its members work towards ensuring a positive regulatory environment for the production, transportation and use of coal in Canada. The CAC also undertakes public relation activities designed to increase public understanding and acceptance of the contemporary Canadian coal industry.

Description of Membership:
1. Producing members are organizations or individuals operating in Canada that either produce coal in Canadaq, own a working interest in a coal mine in Canada, or have recived all the necessary approvals to develop a mine and such mine is under construction. 2. Non-Producing members are organizations or individuals operating in Canada that consume coal produced in Canada, or are individuals or organizations operating in Canada that hold coal leases, land or licenses, and have received all necessary approvals to develop a coal mine in Canada, or are railways that transport coal produced in Canada. 3. Associates are organizations or individuals operating in Canada which normally supply goods or services to, or are otherwise associated with the Canadian Coal industry.



Description 
There are no specific bills or laws. Lobbying will be for information exchange. Areas of government would be Natural Resources, Environment, Energy and Transportation. Lobbyists would also interact with federal ministers at the Energy & Mines Minister's annual Conference.   View
