Description of Organization:
The Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council and the Canadian Off Highway Vehicle Distributors Council are a national, non-profit, trade association which represents the responsible interests of the major motorcycle,scooter and off highway manufacturers, as well as the manufacturers, distributors and retail outlets of motorcycle products and services in Canada. The member companies of the MMIC and COHV account for over 90 percent of all the new motorcycles, scooters and off road vehicles sold in Canada. The MMIC and COHV is funded entirely by its members and Industry Partners and by the programs and services it offers. |

| We are always on the look out to find studies and research that will enable us to better understand the safety issues surrounding the usage of motorcycles and all terrain vehicles. As an industry group, we certainly believe in the importance of working with governments and the public on legislation. That way, it is possible to have legislation that works, is enforceable and includes the very important component of public education and training. More specifically, of improving rider safety, improving stewardship of the environment, increasing rider education and training, and building, maintaining and ensuring access to land to maximize tourism and economic development opportunities. |
