Description |
|
AIA has not conducted lobbying activities in Nova Scotia in the last 6-months as the organization experienced a change in staff and focuses government relation activities on different regions in Canada year by year. Some of the priority areas that we are engaging government staff, at the federal and provincial level on, are the effects of innovation on the automotive aftermarket and what is required to ensure the sustainability of the industry, the impacts of the transition to a low-carbon economy on the industry, the skills/training that is necessary to ensure the industry has the workforce it requires (particularly as we enter a phase of increasingly technologically advanced vehicles), corporate social responsibility and ensuring that independent repair and maintenance outlets have access to vehicle information from original manufacturers to maintain consumer choice in where their vehicles are serviced and the sustainability of the these independent outlets. |
