The awards were presented on Saturday, June 13 by Senator John Buchanan and his wife Mavis as part of the 20th Anniversary of the annual 50+ Expo, at Exhibition Park, Halifax.
With information exhibits, special guests, awards, live entertainment, an evening dance, and seminars spread over two full days, the Expo draws thousands to Exhibition Park each year. The Expo event was established by active and willing volunteers with a vision of being ‘by seniors, for seniors.’ The event has maintained its guiding theme of ‘Life Is What You Make It” throughout its 20-year history.

Seniors’ Literacy and Learning Partnership Award
The Seniors’ Literacy and Learning Partnership Award was created in 2007 to recognize exemplary partnerships between learning networks and seniors’ councils or other seniors’ organizations in the provision of upgrading programs to older learners in Nova Scotia.
