Summer Female Mentorship Program

What this Program Offers

You will get full-time work in a Nova Scotia government department or agency in a field related to your education and where women are under-represented. Terms are usually four months.

Each participant gets to work closely with a personal mentor who helps guide and advise her on her career and opportunities within government.

What Jobs Are Available?

Summer jobs are available in fields such as applied sciences, engineering, forestry, geology, trades, technology, and management.

Who Is Eligible?

Full-time female university, community college or recognized trade school students returning to study in the fall in fields where women are under-represented.

Salary and Location

Participants earn a base salary of $8.10 per hour. Departments provide additional salary based on the complexity and responsibility of the work opportunity.

How to Apply

Program positions for the summer are advertised from February to March each spring at campus employment centres, Access Nova Scotia Centres, and on the Nova Scotia Government Website. Check back each spring for new summer opportunities.
