Holly Bartlett Advisor, HR Strategy Nova Scotia Public Service Commission
Holly has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University, a Certificate in Adult Education from Dalhousie’s College of Continuing Education and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Nova Scotia Community College. As the Advisor, HR Strategy Holly will be working with the HR Strategy Team to develop and implement Hr Strategies for various professional groups across the Government of Nova Scotia. This will include development of tools, systems and processes to support the strategic development of the HR community. |

Josh Burke Finaancial Analyst Treasury and Policy Board
Josh is a financial analyst with the Treasury and Policy Board. He has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and Bachelors in Economics from McGill University. He is currently enrolled in the CGA program and expecting to complete it in 2 years. |

Adam Grant Policy Analyst/Ombudsman Representative Office of the Ombudsman
Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History and Political Science from Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College. In 2006, he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Law. During his university career, Adam developed a keen interest in contemporary human rights and administrative law issues. Prior to his participation in the Career Starts program, he was employed by the Mental Health Advocates Training Project, a co-operative initiative that seeks to train individuals to act on the behalf of persons with mental illnesses. As a policy analyst at the Office of the Ombudsman, Adam will study, review, and develop policies that will assist the Office in improving the delivery of municipal and provincial government services in Nova Scotia. |

Aja Joshi Co-ordinator, Research and Information Analyst Nova Scotia Public Service Commission
Aja Joshi is a graduate from Dalhousie University where she completed her Masters degree in Public Administration (May, 2006). Prior to that, she obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. Aja previously worked with the department of Community Services in the position of Policy Analyst in different divisions. She will be with the NS Public Service Commission as a Coordinator of Research and Planning in the Planning & Coordination Division. She is very excited about this position and hope this internship experience provides her with the much-needed career related work experience, as well as the opportunity to develop her skills, gain knowledge and meet other public servants while working for the Nova Scotia government. |

Kimberley Kilfoil Quality Co-coordinator/ Policy Officer Environment and Labour
Kimberley comes into the program with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Mary's University in 2004. She also obtained an advanced certificate in Human Resource Management from Nova Scotia Institute of Technology in 2005. She worked in the OHS Division at Environment and Labour for a year and a half before beginning this internship.
As an intern, she will continue working as Quality Coordinator/Policy Officer, which involves maintaining the Division's ISO 9000 compliant Quality Management System Her work will ensure top-notch service and program delivery, and to ensure continual improvement within the OHS Division. She will also be leading the Division's auditors through the first internal audit of the QMS to see how we are matching up to the international standard. |

Geoff Law Policy Analyst Office of Immigration
Geoff has a Masters degree in Environmental Studies from York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Mount Allison University. As a policy analyst/evaluation officer with the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration, Geoff is involved in a variety of projects, including: policy development and analysis, program research and evaluation, developing briefing notes and aiding in the development of corporate documents and policies. He previously worked with Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relation within the Business Registration Unit. |

Misha LeBlanc Geographic Information Systems Technician Intern Department of Environment and Labour
Misha is a graduate of the New Brunswick Community College-Moncton Campus with a diploma in Geographic Information Systems Technology. He also comes with a horticultural diploma, and is a Certified Horticultural Technician as well he as having taken many courses in Geology from Acadia University.
Included in his current duties are acquiring new data sets, georeferencing aerial photography, maintaining and simplifying the GIS Databases, creating maps for various purposes as needed, importing Global Position System data, and creating metadata for all existing and created data in the GIS system. Misha will be assisting with geospatial training and deployment GPS data collection technologies for the NSDEL inspectors. |

Marc LeLacheur Programmer Analyst Department of Education
Marc is a graduate of the Nova Scotia Community College's 2-year IT - Programming course. He is originally from Bedford, NS, and is now working at the Department of Education as a Programmer Analyst within their IT Services Division. While there he will be involved with projects that will have him working mainly with web-based programming languages and reporting tools in a Windows environment. |

Lee-Ann Nunn Environmental Technologist Department of Environment and Labour
Lee-Ann has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from Nova Scotia Agricultural College. She is currently a Master of Science candidate at NSAC/Dalhousie University. Her graduate research focuses on nutrient concentrations and loading to surface water in a mixed landuse watershed in the Annapolis Valley. Lee-Ann is also a Professional Agrologist. As an Environmental Technologist, she will be reviewing and ensuring compliance of water withdrawals, involved in a number of water research projects, and will develop databases to assist the public in determining flow rates of watersheds in Kings and Annapolis Counties. |

David Sun Geoscience Database Design Specialist Department of Natural Resources
David Sun graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Computer Science, and is completing his Masters degree in the same field on a part time basis. His primary internship responsibilities will be in the area of relational database management systems, specifically Mircosoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server, Internet technologies and web site design. He will also be collaborating with departmental GIS specialists, geologists and engineers to develop database models, perform data conversions, design data entry and maintenance applications, publicly accessible Internet query tools, integrate the database within the department GIS. This will also involve integrating the databases in departmental, provincial and national IMS applications and portals, devise and test quality control procedures to ensure the efficient and secure operation of the developed technologies. |

Minh Tan Environmental Research Analyst Department of Environment and Labour
Minh Tan is a recent graduate from Dalhousie University with Masters in Public Administration. He also holds a BSc in Chemistry (First Class Honors). Originally born in Viet Nam, Minh came to Canada as a child refugee and was raised in Nova Scotia. He is delighted to be hired on as an Environmental Chemical Specialist with the department of environment and Labour, where he can combine his knowledge in public policy and chemistry to good use to make Nova Scotia an even more environmentally friendly and responsible place. Minh's professional background include graphic design, public relations, copy writing, research and office management, with private sector, government and NGOs, including in the immigration sector. His main interests include marathon running, singing, playing guitar and writing songs and poetry. |
