Co-operative Employment Program

What this Program Offers

You will get full-time work in a Nova Scotia government department or agency in a field related to your education. Terms are usually for four months to meet the needs of post secondary co-op programs, but some may be longer.

You get to learn how the government works and get a sense of future job opportunities in the public service.

What Jobs Are Available?

There is a diverse range of work opportunities in all fields. Work terms are usually in the winter, summer, and fall.

Students may be assigned to work in a program area or on a special project or initiative.

Who Is Eligible?

You are eligible if you are a full-time student registered in a Nova Scotia post secondary co-operative education program.

Salary and Location

Salaries usually range from $9 to $13 per hour based on the position and the student's level of education and co-op work experience.

Positions are located in government departments and agencies across Nova Scotia.

Contact your institution's co-op coordinator to apply for positions. The recruitment process takes place three times a year.
