Employee Assistance Program

What is the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

EAP is a confidential referral service available to government employees and their families to help assist people with various problems/stressors. Employees and family members can receive confidential EAP assistance 24/7. EAP staff assesses the person’s concerns and provides appropriate information and/or referral to a private counsellor, public agency, and/or other resources.

The demands and pressures of everyday life can become overwhelming at times. Seeking assistance to resolve troubling issues is a sign of courage. EAP is one resource that can help find ways to cope. Accessing EAP is voluntary and confidential. EAP staff cannot release any information without the employee/family members written consent.

Employees who have used EAP said:

" I only wish I had called sooner"

" I could not have gotten through this on my own"

" I didn’t know it would be so easy and quick to get help"

" I didn’t know I could get help for my troubled teenager"

If you would like to share any feedback with us, please download the EAP Feedback Form Portable Document Format (PDF) and return it to us in a confidential envelope.

Since 1996 the Employee Assistance Program has helped thousands of employees and their family members. There is no need to deal with your problems alone.
