Last Updated: December 1, 2009 -- 4:00 p.m. H1N1 Influenza InformationDuring this period where H1N1 has been deemed an influenza pandemic, it is fundamental that we all do our part to keep the workplace as healthy as possible, in the interests of all employees and the public. As part of Government's commitment to providing a healthy, safe and supportive workplace, employees are reminded that maintaining a healthy and safe workplace is a combined effort between the Employer and the employee. Nova Scotia's Occupational Health and Safety Act is based on the Internal Responsibility System (IRS). The Act obligates the Employer and employees alike to work together to ensure the health and safety of the workplace. We are asking that employees ensure that they maintain excellent hygiene practices (hand-washing, coughing into your sleeve, etc.) and make efforts to reduce the spread of influenza. As this situation is constantly evolving, the Q&A's are subject to change. To ensure that you have the most up-to-date information, please check back regularly. All posted information will be date and time stamped. Also, please print and post the Q&A's in lunchrooms and common areas for ease of access to the information, and for those employees who may not have regular access to a computer. Thank-you for your co-operation, Rosalind Penfound Q&A's
