The Mace
- The mace is the ancient
symbol of Royal authority, originally used as a battle weapon carried
by the royal bodyguard.
- When the House of Assembly
is in session, the mace is the symbol of the Speaker's authority to
conduct the business of the House.
- The mace is always
in the care of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Assembly.
